I cannot stress the importance of going with the best outfit out of Bethel. Your team of professionals is 100% by the book and safety is the number one goal. The equipment used was in excellent condition and having locations of each camp in a once-a-year spot and not stacking hunters on top of each other. Back at base camp, the accommodations are excellent with a great breakfast and a perfect setup to get ready to head into the bush and also to break down your meat and antlers. Having tables and an area to package and wrap was a big help. I am looking forward to seeing you all again next year with a new friend who is fulfilling his lifetime dream of DIY moose in Alaska! Thank you all for providing your amazing operation and helping hunters from all over fulfill our dreams.

It's extremely hard to plan a trip from so far away but Papa Bear made sure all the details were taken care of from logistics to the gear they rent you to use. We brought a group of 4 hunters and papa bear put us in a spot where all 4 of us tagged out with moose which is amazing. I have hunted Alaska 4 times with 3 different transporters. The last time was with my 17 year old son as my partner. I wanted it to be an epic adventure for him and I wanted us to come home safe. DIY hunts should never be taken lightly in the Bush of Alaska, there are many dangers, the riskiest part of it can be just getting there. I can’t reiterate enough the importance of a solid, reliable and competent transporter. Additionally, I found PB’s base camp amenities to be above and beyond what was previously afforded me. Big walk-in cooler to store my harvest. Top notch cleaning station. Boot warmers - came in real handy this last trip. Among many other not expected but appreciated amenities. A sincere and genuine staff interested in taking care of their customers but also in clearly giving back to the community they live and serve in. I’ve also not had anyone make it so clear to me the importance of the field handling of the meat - specifically the part I was donating. I didn’t need the advice but I genuinely appreciated the concern. That concern remained evident in how posthaste they were in coming back out directly after a kill to put the meat in the cooler. Do your own homework or learn from my past, Papa Bear is by far the best I have found. I look forward to hunting with them again. Thank you!
